How much you could be saving?

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of ING Direct for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% mine.

Been reviewed my financial status today using ING Direct which offer a great widget that gives me the ability to find out, on average, and how much households are saving in selected areas.

The widget is free to use if you want to know how much your saving accounts are growing and make the best of it. Will help you choose to see what savings account could be right for you as well.

Try out in yourself the "My Comparison Table" and  you'll see how much you could be saving. I've done it and now I know how my saving accounts going to be, it's only ING Direct offer this free widget for the people wants to plan a good savings for their future.

ING Direct offers a decent way to do banking like Savings Accounts, the easy access account with no penalties. Also offer Loyalty Saver, a rewarding rate for not making withdrawals. And the best one is the Growth Saver, a higher rate for higher balances.

Isn't it nice to know how much our savings is? The best way is to try the widget and become self-conscious on your savings today and be happy for achieving it.

Buying an Apple device with confidence

Each iOS device packs in so many great features that it can be tough to know which is perfect for you. This guide will help you to buy with confidence.

The iPod touch is the cheapest full-iOS device and boasts many iPhone 4 features at a fraction of the price. It's got the sharp Retina display, fast A4 processor, FaceTime video calling, can record HD video, and connects to Wi-Fi networks. For web browsing, listening to music and shooting video, it's on a par with the iPhone 4.

However, the iPod touch won't connect you direct to a mobile network. This means you can't make a regular calls and can only access the web over Wi-Fi. But once you've bought an iPod touch, there's no contract or regular top-ups to pay for at all. And by using apps such as Skype, you can still make calls over Wifi.

iOS 5.0.1 free update for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch

Just updated my iPhone this morning into iOS 5.0.1 the latest free update of the Apple for iPhone 4S, iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS, both iPads, and the 3rd and 4th generation iPod touch. This is my very first time I am updating on the air using iOS 5.0.

Yes, I didn't use iTunes to connect my iPhone just to update the system. Simply, just go to Settings => General => Software Update, and tap Download and Install (see illustration below).

Kate Middleton named as Britain's best dressed

Just days after being named as Britain's best dressed ahead of Kate Moss and Florence Welch from Florence and the Machine, Kate certainly stayed true to form with the statement piece.

Kate is remarkable, I think she is good for William and like Diana in some ways but also stronger and more mature than Diana was when she became such an Icon. I love to see them, wish them well but am glad they have some space between us and their REAL LIVES as I think the media had too much of Diana, she deserved better. Charles and the entire family failed Diana, in neutering her to her maturity, I think that is the difference between Diana and Kate as William having seen this will be more supportive and aware of the dangers.

Do you have Christmas Stocking Fillers?

A month to go once again before Christmas for Christians and sooner or later people are going to face the fact and accept that they are going to have to face the inevitable and that is Christmas shopping.

One of the famous things that I can find on every house during Christmas eve is Stocking Fillers. These are empty sock that children hang on Christmas trees and sometimes outside the door so that Santa Claus (or Father Christmas) can fill it with small toys, coins, fruit, candy or other small gifts when he arrives.

These kids will definitely look for their stockings in the morning to find exciting presents for them. And these will make them so much fun and making the occasion more merrier.

Have you try one of those for you kids?

The world's most expensive gadget

An iPad customised with gold, diamonds and shavings of Tyrannosaurus rex bone has been billed as the world's most expensive gadget.

The £5m device is being promoted by British luxury goods specialist Stuart Hughes. The iPad 2 is encrusted with 12.5-carat diamonds and has 53 separate gems forming the iconic Apple logo. The back section has been formed in 24-carat gold and weighs two kilogrammes. But the most expensive part is actually the main front frame which is made from the oldest rock the world has to offer - Ammolite.

Our Clocks go back one hour tonight

I need to change my time the minute following 12:59am tomorrow (Sunday, 30 October 2011) morning will be 12:00 midnight. For the second time tomorrow.

That’s because, across Europe, we put our clocks back by one hour ‘tonight’ to welcome back Greenwich Mean Time.

Why do the clocks change?

The website of Woodlands Junior School in Kent explains:

They've been changing the clocks forwards and backwards in the UK since 1916. It’s all to do with saving the hours of daylight, and was started by a man called William Willett, a London builder, who lived in Petts Wood in Kent (near our school).

UK Travel advisory on Philippine holidays

The United Kingdom urged its residents to practice sensible precautions on its travel advisory.

Even though there are travel advisories such like this of UK then I ask how come that there are many foreigners aside from having a vacation here, they prefer to have their retirements here. violence is everywhere, it's a normal world we have.

Many foreigners living in our country can attest that they enjoy the protection and assistance of no less than their neighbors. Our crime rate is not even a tenth of that of New York, USA. It is just a matter of coordinating with the proper authorities to live safely and securely.

Destabilization plot may be possible

Sen. Antonio Trillanes IV said there may be plans to overthrow the Aquino administration due to alleged restlessness in the military.

For once, I would very much appreciate it if the likes of Sen. Trillanes would keep their mouth shut and avoid conveying irresponsible statements to the public.

Obviously, he is inciting a military destabilization, and in this dire situation of our country, a coup is the least that we need, much less people like him. It does not help in any way or form to try taking advantage of our demoralized forces due to the loss they suffered recently to overthrow yet another president while the insurgents are spreading havoc in Mindanao.

Maasinhon Trio: Pilipinas Got Talent winner

Congratulations to the Winner and Finalist they were really the Best of the Best!

All of them deserved to be the winner but lets just accept the fact that the Maasinhon Trio got the highest text votes in the competition. I hope you vote your bet, right? Don't be bitter. We must be proud instead of the versatile talents of our Kababayang Pinoy.

2 Drivers arrested in Chinese girl's death

Two drivers suspected of running over a toddler who died a week after she was struck on a busy market street in southern China and was ignored by passers-by was formally arrested by the Police.

The only reason these two men were hunted down and arrested is probably due to the fact that China is on the world stage, under the spotlights, and everyone is aware of what happened to this child and watching to see the actions taken by the Chinese Government. If this horrible event was not broadcast I expect it would have been swept under the rug as this was only a female and not a male child.

RIP Yue Yue - China toddler 'hit and run'

Yue Yue, a Chinese toddler who was ignored by 18 passers-by as she lay critically injured in the street after being run over by two vehicles has died.

My heart is broken for you Yue Yue... May you rest in peace with the Lord. I hope this would serve as an eye opener to the Chinese government. Chinese are human not monsters so please act according to what you are. I hope that driver will feel the guilt that he could not sleep his whole life. He destroyed Yue yue's precious future and that's very heart breaking to the parents heart.

This poor little girl is not my child but the moment I heard such bad news and seen the video, I couldn't get over of the pain until now. I feel so really bad! My heart just can't stand the pain.

November 7, 2011 declared regular holiday for Eid'l Adha

Eid'l Adha falls on November 7 [Monday], which has been declared a regular holiday.

The muslim celebration celebrated worldwide is a "festival of Sacrifice" or "Greater Eid" in commemoration of the willingness of Abraham to sacrifice his son Ishmael as an act of obedience to God.

"Eid'l Adha" is like a feast celebration for our Muslim brethren, rich families slaughtered cow or goat and half of it they give to their poor brethren.

Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) to put an end

Our country's problems are not just in a single lane. Let's look into perspective when it comes to economy, poverty, social degradation, education, OFW, crises in Mindanao etc... Erap could be the guy in terms of military action against the rebels BUT consider taking a look on the other side. I'm not against Erap, let's not just decide so abruptly because of a single issue.

I think most of the pinoys did not really know the real score on what really happens in Mindanao.

Taal Volcano big sign as enhancement

The proposed Hollywood-inspired Batangas sign on Taal Volcano perhaps the nation's most famous vista by Movie star-turned-politician Vilma Santos-Recto.

Aesthetically, not good. Somethings will just be more beautiful when left as is. And knowing Filipinos' kind of thinking, other provinces will copy it and do the same thing with their tourist spots and eventually, before we know it, the Philippines will be like "signage capital of the world" or "the texted capital of the world.." Our ancestors had valued volcanoes as sacred, for Laon's sake. I believe the Batangas officials can think of better things to promote tourism rather than that.

Gaddafi captured and killed says report

Libya's National Transitional Council claim to have captured and killed Colonel Gaddafi in the town of Sirte, however this is yet to be confirmed.

The UN are still in it for the long run now... the transitional government are put in place by capitalists, they step out of line same again.

Gaddafi although evil had good ideas mainly the gold standard for Africa as an African Union and global economic powerhouse, gold for oil instead of the US dollar which needs to be replaced as the global reserve currency by a basket of currencies to reduce volatility and global domination by the bakers of only a few countries.

NAIA Terminal-1 for sale?

So sell the NAIA-1 so that the proceeds will fund a new airport in Pampanga?

The Department of Transportation and Communications (DOTC) is studying the phaseout and sale of the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 in order to pay for the cost of the proposed Clark International Airport in Pampanga to meet the country's airport needs and boost the country’s tourism industry.

If you were living from the south of Manila (Batangas-Cavite-Laguna), what would you think of it, I bet you will cringe. Before they go head on, they should properly lay-out the supporting infrastructure for it. Like, superhiways or MRT/Rail system that will connect directly to the airport without going through much hassle.... Uh does this also means that the crocs and voltures from NAIA 1 will also transfer?

18 October, 2011

NAIA is world's worst airport, says poll

Manila's Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 1 has just been voted, again, as among the world's worst airport in a reader poll.

I don't know in what category this survey was made. A lot of lousy and disorganized airports exist in the world. Let them look at the third world countries airports so that they may know how this airports operate. If Philippine terminal is compared with the terminals of airports in first world countries, then it would be reasonable since Philippines could not match the budget of rich countries.

Marcos on 'Libingan ng mga Bayani'?

I am not a pro MARCOS nor a pro AQUINO... but I only have this one question...

Should the late President Marcos will be buried in Libingan ng mga Bayani?

I've made a research on the said Libingan ng mga Bayani and how was this created and its purpose. Here's I've found out:

The Republic Memorial Cemetery at Fort McKinley was established in May 1947 as a fitting tribute to the gallant Filipino men and women who brought honor to the country and fought for the sake of freedom and democracy.

Students on spending recent gadgets

I was just watching a report of the release of the Apple iPhone 4S in London and if you check the video its practically all students, some even walking away with more than one.

When they were asked how much they had paid one guy said the price didn't make any sense and he considered it obscene to even mention it.

Unfortunately most of these students will be the same ones marching on the streets protesting tuition hikes which is for their future and their own good.

Facebook app on iPad?

I am looking for Facebook App on iPad since usually an App is much easier to use and the most simplified than using a Safari browser.

But, I just realized that we don't really need a mobile app for Facebook because iPad isn't mobile. Using Facebook the normal way is perfectly fine on the iPad.

Soccer and rugby promotional coupons

Many kids are now attracted to soccer and rugby because people are now getting interested in watching the game and now they want to learn and perform the game and the interesting moves and tricks.

It is now a popular sport in the Philippines, soccer has made its way added as one of the favourite sports in the country, generating extreme interest even among kids as a sport of choice.

If you are an avid sports fan, you will probably like to watch every game. Usually, the cost vary depends on the game you are about to watch. The more exciting game the more the cost are getting higher once you'd like to buy. Perhaps there's a time you can't or you don't like to watch live games because you wouldn't like to pay the high price tickets.

My experiment in Chitika Ads

Get Chitika | Premium

For 3 years, I have been an Adsense Publisher, and over the time it is my main source of revenue in blogging. I try not to banned from Google Adsense, and I try to integrate my ads in a proper way. They have a lot of rules and I adhere to all of them to my knowledge. I have always liked Adsense and it works quite well for me.

Recently, just over a week ago, I found out my Adsense was inactive. I feel very disappointing, for several years of taking care of my Adsense now its all gone. I don't know what to do, I lost my £60 every cashout I've made on my blog. It was terrible because the reasons behind of being inactive is I really don't know about doing it.

London Bridge and the Tower Bridge

In my previous post about the Tower Bridge, I was found out that it is incorrectly referred to as London Bridge. In this post, I'm going to show you in photo the actual real London Bridge (photo above) which is just a very ordinary bridge beside the Tower Bridge.

This is my third walk on the bridge, and still one of my favorite place in London. Tower Bridge is probably London's most iconic, but it is nowhere near as old as some might imagine, designed by City architect Sir Horace Jones in 1884 and opened after his death in 1894.

Vaginal Mesh Lawsuits

Vaginal mesh, also known as a bladder sling or pelvic mesh, is a product that often implanted surgically into the vaginal area of a woman to inhibit chances of pelvic organ prolapse or POP. Pelvic organ prolapse affects the womb within the vaginal area, causing it to fall and possibly leading to the slipping of the bowel and bladder. This can, in turn, lead to considerable pressure to the vagina as well as high levels of discomfort, pain and urinary issues.

Some of the common complications associated with vaginal mesh implants include:
  • Urinary Problems
  • Pain During Intercourse
  • Vaginal Scarring
  • Multiple Occurrences of Prolapse
  • Mesh Erosion into the Vagina
  • Perforations within the Bladder, Bowel and Blood Vessels
  • Organ Injuries
  • Infection
If you or someone you love has suffered complications as a result of vaginal mesh surgery and pelvic organ prolapse, you may be entitled to legal compensation for a vaginal mesh lawsuit

The Philippine Embassy in London

I really don't know where is the Philippine Embassy in London until I've lost my passport and I need to apply for a new one.

That's it, I need to know where in London is the embassy was. I ask my friends and Google how I could reach the place. It was situated actually in Suffolk Street, London near in Trafalgar Square. I always have been in Trafalgar because I like the place and people around are always busy taking photos in a variety of performers. It is at the very heart in London near Big Ben. Not knowing the embassy was just a walking distance in this square, so when I came back to find it, I could easily found the Philippine Embassy.

Don't miss... Orlando

Start planning the Orlando holidays you will be talking about for years!

If it's fun, action and excitement, Orlando is the place for you. Like the rest of the world, it's the place people are wanting to visit, live and do business.

Its has been my dream to have a vacation in the U.S. and will choose Orlando as my point of destination all through my holidays. Bordered by blue sea and golden sands, is a wonderful mix of lively resorts, whitewashed villages, and cobbled streets.

Previously, I had heard that my friend had a good impression visiting in a various theme parks in there, which focus my mind to visit. After a hard work in my job, I think it's time to visit Orlando. I just need to save now so that I don't miss Orlando.

As we linger in the warm sunshine, Orlando is my next destination with its landscape filled with beaches. If you're a beach-lover, then Orlando is for you. Berthing in the very heart of the prettiest towns and villages along Florida, is the perfect choice for a wonderful sightseeing holiday, you can sightsee all day long, at leisure on shore with Orlando villas.

I imagine getting home from holidays, and finding it with so much of fun. I really love to visit this place, I can't wait every day passing by, it sounds absolutely so much of enjoyment on my holidays soon and I can't bring myself to tell my friends and family the fun I had.

London 2012 Olympics: 1 year to go

I was in Trafalgar Square to see the party that the Mayor of London celebrates 1 year to go to London 2012 Olympics.

I just want to own a camera

It's been almost a year now since living here in UK. I am in the City of Sheffield, north England in particular. I am 4 hours in a coach every time I went to London and about more than 2 hours in a train.

One of my main objectives of this blog is to stay in touch with my friends and family in the Phillippines, showing to them what life abroad is and for them to explore the places I have been to.

My summary on blogging

I started out this second personal blog of mine when I moved to London. I founded it in 2010 mainly to stay in touch with my friends and family in Philippines. It makes me smile to read that very first entry as I clearly thought I was very late to the blogging game, when in fact I know so many blogs that have been founded much more recently!

There are so many blogs trying to make money and – let’s be honest – many (not all) of them don’t have any personality. There are blogs that I LOVE but there is also a terrible SAMENESS to many blogs. In the last year or so I have come to the realisation that I don’t really care about making money from my blogging. I just want to have fun. And so, I have made my First Fun Blog contest.

Restructure my personal blog

You blog. You Profit. Sign up for SocialSpark!
I'm trying to restructure my personal blog. I want to make this as simple, clean and pleasant to readers.

This means I will start to eliminate those some unnecessary widgets later on including my google adsense. And recently, I separate news blog and personal, in a blogging environment at least.

My main reason is to make this site concentrate on online marketplace that connects me directly with advertisers who will pay me to write posts about their products, services and websites on my own blog.

I did not go to UP, Ateneo or La Salle – so what?

There were times some people ask one question on me. Where did you go to school?

"La Salle?"
"Uhm, UP?"

I have to admit I wasn’t exactly proud of my school. I wasn’t ashamed of it, either, but my immature and insecure younger self didn’t know how to deal with people from more prestigious schools inquiring about my background. I feared they would look down on me if they found out I wasn’t their schoolmate.

Fell in love with Chicken Shawarma

One of the first street foods I fell in love with in the Philippines was Chicken Shawarma. So juicy and delicious and really very quick and easy to make when you buy.

Ironically enough, while I lived in UK for almost a year now, there was a Middle Eastern (Egyptian, I think) gentleman who ran a food stall near where I lived and sold nothing but Shawarmas.

He would have chicken rotating on a spit over a heated element, and would shave off the outside regularly onto pita bread or the like. He would add a cucumber-yogurt type sauce that reminded me of the sauce they'd put on gyros, and then for those who liked it spicy, a unique red and somewhat spicy sauce as well as some dry seasoning to shake over it. I think it would have been fabulous with lamb, but the chicken was amazing as it was, with some onions, tomatoes, and lettuce added. It was perfection! I will always remember this dish.

How to Blog?

Lots of my readers and friends ask me how to blog? and why do I blog? Because they think I am just wasting my time and effort in blogging. As I have said I blog because I can and want too, and most importantly because I find it fun. The fun factor is that I am earning in my blog.

Checkout my new restructured news blog

I briefly touched on this in my post and have somewhat revised my opinion. Whether its simply because I've had time to change my mind, or because other posts have influenced me I'm not sure, but I've come to the conclusion that it is now time to separate news blog and personal, in a blogging environment at least.

It's not an easy task ahead. But with God on your side, you will succeed. Just make sure you do an honest to goodness cleansing among your ranks.

CBCP apologizes over PCSO scandal

What values are these bishops taking about? I don't know what vows they have taken when they were ordained, but surely they lost them all. The Church that they represents is tarnished by their stupid actions. Surely, decency is not in their system anymore. Can't they see the rampant poverty among our countrymen? And yet they have the gall to show off their luxury vehicles.

Philippines, China agree to keep peace in West Philippine Sea

We can not trust China, the true face of a wolf ready to devour its prey! We should wake up and take immediate necessary countermeasures against an ambitious aggressive communist China before it’s too late!

Trusting the Chinese? How many of those promises and even contracts that they violated? am sure they will do what is best for them ones opportunity comes even if steps on somebody's toes.

Butuan Bishop admits receiving SUV from PCSO

I came from a Catholic school and if I remember right we were told that anyone from the religious like the nuns and priests are taught to live a life of "SIMPLICITY" and reject luxurious gifts from anyone because they should embody or reflect the way Jesus lived HIS life. We should all remember the name of this Bishop because he is definitely unfit to hold office much more spread the teaching of God, and I doubt it he will even be removed from office, knowing how the church likes to cover up the crimes of their priests. And what a lame excuse to use revenge by the Aquino government towards GMA's allies. What you did was so shameful and unfit for someone serving God don't blame anyone for your greediness, Butuan Bishop Juan de Dios Pueblos.
