Discussions on the Divorce Bill in Philippines

I now realize why this country of ours is going down the drain because of people who are resistant to change!

The real issue here is about giving every Filipino citizens the right to decide for themselves and not because we want to follow other country. Divorce law are for those who are not happy and is miserable on their marriage life... lets face it, that the only one who could really decide whether they want to stay in the marriage union are the couple themselves because they are the one's who knew exactly what kind of life they are living inside their roof, who are we to judge these people about being immoral for wanting divorce just because they made a mistake choosing the person to be with for the rest of their life?

To all of you who doesn't want divorce, no one is forcing you to get a divorce for yourself, maybe it's not important in your life, but who knows? Maybe one day, one of your generations would need this divorce bill. Lets stop using morality as an excuse. If you are a sinner, you are a sinner even if you don't get a divorce, so good luck to those who are narrow minded about divorce bill because whether you admit it or not surely one of in your generations or up coming generations will surely will have a miserably married life and you are one of those who deprived them to have their right to choose for themselves.

Give me a break of your so called "morality." The government's role is not to uphold morality within YOUR families. Their task is to provide chances of living a better life. In the end, it is all up to us. The government will not prosecute it if we won't go into divorce. If you want morality and values to prevail, then be a good citizen by yourself. Show a good example to your children, to your neighbors. Start within your homes and give those living in a miserable relationship a chance! Don't be so assuming that everyone is happy.

i am supporting the divorce bill. For me this bill is essential in a society like the Philippines where women remain marginalized and have a very high cases of domestic violence and abuses; the situation now is that when a woman is beaten up by her husband or when a woman is confined to a marriage where she suffers so much, she must have the freedom to leave the marriage; pero hindi nangyayari ito, at present Filipina women do not have this choice because existing laws on legal separation and annulment miserably fail to address this;
why this is happening… because mababa ang pagtingin ng society sa kababaihan; women’s rights should be uphold in our country; and deciding for a divorce should always be the decision of the couple, equality should always takes place

I am very much favor of divorce bill. Why? simply becuase I don't want to hear any women crying out for help just to get rid of thier irresponsible and immature husband. Hundreds of women suffering for this kind of evil act and everyday it's getting higher & higher the number of battered wife reported. ENOUGH!!!! Don't let this hundreds of battered wife becomes a thousand.

Yung mga tumutol, sorry, sana maranasan nyo kung paano i punching bag yung mukha nyo. If that happens, I'm sure favor na kayo sa divorce bill else gusto nyong maging martyr at mamatay na may black eye.

I just simply agree in imposing divorce law here in our country, know why? because it ends up all the miseries for those couples suffering/living on it..not only referring to physical but also to emotional burden, especially to the children of those couples affected...The children are, most of the time, the shock absorber! and they are most likely, to suffer emotional/mental disturbance; and feel like being neglected as they grow along with a troubled family...
