Facebook app on iPad?

I am looking for Facebook App on iPad since usually an App is much easier to use and the most simplified than using a Safari browser.

But, I just realized that we don't really need a mobile app for Facebook because iPad isn't mobile. Using Facebook the normal way is perfectly fine on the iPad.

The trouble with facebook

Everybody get carried away, put too much in private information in a social site and now blame the site. When the Internet was first created so many people said it was dangerous but things have tapered down and people learnt to use it for their own Purpose, internet can be addictive too.

Facebook is wonderful because it allows me to keep in touch with my family and friends all over the world and brings that closeness despite the distance and our busy life. But we have to know what information we would rather keep private and what we don't mind sharing. I have seen people making stupid comments, post silly pictures that could backfire and affect their jobs etc. The usage of FB are fantastic. But if you use it wrongly or for the wrong reason then blame yourself.

If you are worried about privacy, adjust your settings so that nobody but your friends can see your stuff. If you are still worried, all you have to do is not to post embarrassing photos and to avoid saying anything stupid or defamatory. Remember, it is not compulsory for you to use all of the features of Facebook. Only use it for what you want to use it for.

I personally find it very nice for posting family pictures because most of my family are on the other side of the world from me. But I see no point in telling everyone every time I go to the toilet. What's the point in doing that?

Filipinos on Facebook 9 out of 10 online

Social networking is so popular among Filipinos, the country has been nicknamed 'The Social Networking Capital of the World,' it said. Facebook is the country’s most popular website, more so than Google, and has a penetration rate of 93.9 percent and is also the eighth most popular country for Twitter use on a global scale, with a penetration rate of 16.1 percent.

We Pinoys are generally friendly and gregarious people. We find time to relax and feel good about ourselves in spite of the pressures at work. We are communicator to any single event happened, we communicate it. We love to tsismis around, and if you traveled overseas surely you will post every single photo taken in that culture. We love to yabang our friends that we are someone of stature in the community. If you do not have fb you are not in?

Attributed to the need of our OFWS to get connected with love ones, love for showbiz updates, eager to see recent photos of friends and relatives, underground entrepreneurs, good source of jokes / news, latest sensation in youtube and the best outlet to express our opinions.

However it is sad for all children students having a facebook account, they spent alot of time in social networking or in the internet rather than doing their homework. It's somehow a parents responsibility to teach them how to face their book instead of Facebook.

My marital status in UK

Taking part in the census in UK is very important and it's also compulsory. You could face a fine if you don't participate or if you supply false information.

It is used to help plan and fund services for the community - services like transport, education and health.

Everyone should be included in the census - all people, households and overnight visitors, including me.

Upon filling-in on my Individual Questioner, I have noticed upon ticking on my Marital Status. The Question is "What is your legal marital or same-sex civil partnership status?" I was a little bit shocked because I came from a very conservative country and in my place we're only asking "What is my Marital Status?". In the Philippines, same-sex relationships are ostracized by the society and are not allowed to get married.

I don't want to give opinion on this matter because it is quite a big issue, just want to share what I have answer in the census.

So, go back to the question, I choose "Never married and never registered as same-sex civil partnership" as my Marital Status here in UK, it was too long usually in my Bio-data or CV's I just put only Single. Here are the options:

  • Never married and never registered as same-sex civil partnership
  • Married
  • Separated, but still legally married
  • Divorced
  • Widowed
  • In a registered same-sex civil partnership
  • Separated, but still legally in a same-sex civil partnership which is now legally dissolved
  • Surviving partner from a same-sex civil partnership

Facebook recently unveiled two new relationship status options for users that are creating quite the buzz. Users in the United States, Canada, France, Australia and the United Kingdom can share their “In a Civil Union” and “In a Domestic Partnership” personal relationship status with FB friends and family.

Facebook banned for hours in Saudi Arabia

Users of the widely-popular Facebook were only able to access the website around sundown.

According to a source at the Telecommunications Agency in Saudi Arabia, the site was restricted most of the day because it did not conform with social values.

Facebook, which has over 200 million active users, was temporarily restricted in Pakistan and Bangladesh earlier this year due to a group on the website that was planning an "Everybody Draw Mohammed Day", which led to massive demonstrations by people in both Muslim-majority nations.
