Harry Potter and the Three Hour Walk
After bitter disappointment and eventual anger when studio bosses plumped for Orlando, Florida to be the home of the ‘Wizarding World' Harry Potter theme park in 2010, home-grown fans of the successful movies (not to mention the books) can finally sleep easy now that he is returning to our shores after the films are done and dusted.
Today Warner Bros., the movie giants behind the hugely successful franchise, have announced that they are to open a brand new Harry Potter attraction in the UK.
Well, that's the good news. Further investigation reveals the attraction will consist of a 3 hour potter around buildings and sets that were used in the film. Based in the glitzy region of Leavesden (just outside Watford) it's a far cry from the $200 million (£135 million) adventure world erected in the States with roller-coasters, a replica Hogwarts and a host of thrilling activities.
Aimed at the more die-hard of Potter fans, Leavesden will feature authentic sets, costumes, animatronics, props and effects used in the production of all eight ‘Harry Potter' movies. The tour will showcase the British artistry, technology and talent that went into bringing the beloved film series to life.
Due to open its magical doors in the spring next year, to coincide with the London Olympics tourist trade, there is still a long wait for eager Potter fans.
